PARQUE ECOLÓGICO VOLCÁN SAN PEDRO

Hi, all!

Monday we had lunch with our friend Steve, a native of our own little The Dalles, OR who lives in San Pedro. 2sday morning we headed to his house for a cup of coffee and from there via tuktuk (golf cart taxi) to the Volcán San Pedro Ecological Park entrance. Steve (and his adorable cocker Taffy) took us hiking for an hour and a half or 2 around the base of the volcano, through forest and corn fields and shaded coffee fincas. At the bottom of the hike we accessed a road that came out just a block or so from our place. A morning well spent!

When I told Mike I wanted to learn the names of the flowers and plants, he asked, "In English, Spanish, or Tz'utujil?". Point well taken.

I know this 1! In English: coffee, in Spanish: café, in Tz'utujil: kape'.

2 views of the same new coffee field, from above and from around a bend in the trail.

Happy trails!
Stacey
